Special Events
JazzBoston organizes a number of special events each year that fall beyond the scope of our regular programing. Some, such as our Members and Friends Appreciation Party and our package trip to the Panama Jazz Festival, have become repeat events. Others are built around one-time occurrences that provide an opportunity to connect members of Greater Boston's diverse jazz community who don't usually get together. Recent examples are last June's Jazz Heroes party honoring Wally's owners Elynor Walcott and her sons and our September Music Media Meet-and-Greet on the occasion of Jazz Journalists Association President Howard Mandel's visit to Boston for the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival.
Whether these special events are about thanking, celebrating, or connecting, they're always a lot of fun. Coming up next is our fourth annual Members and Friends Appreciation party.
Members and Friends Appreciation Party
Save Tuesday nght, January 31, for JazzBoston's annual Appreciation Party and birthday bash. (It's hard to believe we'll be 6 years old!) Ryles Jazz Club will be our host again this year, so the first thank-you's go to the club's proprietor, Gary Mitchell, and its managing director, Gary's sister, Aimee Baum, who threw a terrific celebration for us last year.
You can count on great food and music, door prizes, surprise guests, and lots of people you know or always wanted to meet. Watch this space for more details and the announcement of this year's Guest of Honor.
