Become a Volunteer
JazzBoston is an all-volunteer organization. Board members, Advisory Council members, and friends, working either independently or in teams, make everything happen. We welcome offers of assistance.
Here are some of the areas where a few hours of your time can make a difference:
- Website maintenance
- Information on this website is updated daily from a dynamic database. Volunteers will learn to use a simple content management system.
- Membership drive
- JazzBoston provides a range of services to musicians and fans free of charge. Membership dues help make that possible.
- Resource inventory
- Work is underway to develop an inventory of all the resources that currently exist in Boston’s broader jazz community — from high school jazz programs to college jazz radio stations to alternative venues and smaller organizations that target specific segments of listeners. This data base will be used to help identify gaps in service and opportunities for synergy.
- Tabling at various venues
- From time to time JazzBoston distributes literature at festivals, clubs, and other locations to promote special events or membership offers.
- Assistance at JazzBoston special events
- These could be parties for members, fans, or the artist community or performances in unconventional venues.
